WHY DO LADIES WEAR MAKE UP AFTER CLOSE OF WORK

I was about to go home from work and then I noticed that most ladies in my office would start applying make-up at the close of work before going home. I want you guys to educate us ignorant pips why you think they do this. You knowledgeable guys out there can also contribute.
